COVID > Our adoption

Here it is, April 15th. We made it through the wait....

The covid numbers here are amazing
Population is 96 Million
Total cases to date = 269
Total recoveries = 169
Total deaths = ZERO
Vietnam is being applauded for the low tech approach to covid.

While I thought that it would be a 2 week period of staying in except the grocery store and pharmacy, groups no larger than 2, and no travel between provinces (which are sort of like cities here), what has actually happened is that another decision was made today to extend for another week. In a week they will decide again.

The adoption order has been signed....this is incredible news. This is the one single piece of paper that makes her our daughter and us her parents. Now we just need her in our care. With this order we can finish Piper's Canadian citizenship process, get her a SIN, sign her up for MSP, change her name etc etc. An important part of the adoption is the adoption ceremony called the Giving and Receiving Ceremony. At this ceremony are the officials, the biological family, the adoptive family and the child. If we can’t gather, I am not sure what the process will look like. We are flexible and just want to get Piper into our care.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
