Well... we were feeling a little far away from home and in limbo.....missing Brady.....still waiting for Piper. We are not sure what the future has in store after April 15th, the travel block be lifted or extended. We know we are in the right place but it is not without some challenges.
To lift spirits and bring Canada a little closer, we decided that hosting Easter Brunch would be the perfect opportunity. With 1 frying pan, 1 pot with a lid, a microwave, 2 burners, not enough chairs, a tiny table, and very limited ingredients that would pass for western brunch, we pulled it off in style. It was fantastic.
The menu was
-French toast with fruit salad and yogurt
-scrambled eggs
-hashbrowns
-ground pork and cooked like a breakfast patty
-mimosas (our friend Son had a bottle of champagne)
-black tea with cream and sugar
we had purchased cutlery (almost enough for all) but had some plastic back up. We used disposable plates (they were meant to be large oval serving plates, but it worked).
Our friends came and enjoyed a traditional western Easter Brunch. It was different from anything they had ever had but they loved it. It is not that often that I get to share western culture. It was even more fun for me than for the guests.
